By law, employees are entitled to a salary payment that is not less than the minimum wage in force in the State of Israel and is updated from time to time.
On December 1st, 2017, the minimum wage was increased from 5,000 NIS to 5,300 NIS for a full-time job.
Regarding the minimum hourly wage, as of the end of March 2018 it was 28.49 NIS. As a consequence of the working week hours shortening by 1 hour, the hourly wage was increased to 29.12.
This is the fourth increase in the minimum wage since April 2015.
Raising the minimum wage will, of course, affect both pension provisions and overtime rates.
